About The OC
Welcome to one of the information sites about The OC (The Order of the Chimaera).
Your guild leader and host is Cole the Black (old Cole or OC).
The OC is a Guild Wars Guild who are largely based in the GMT+10 Timezone (east coast Australian) who play on the America server under a Luxon Alliance. You do not have to be Australian to be a member of the OC. We have members in New Zealand and America and welcome members from all locations who are compatible with the guild.
We are Luxon allied. If you own GW: Factions this may infliuence your decision as to whether or not we are right for you. If you only own GW: Prophecies this will not matter.
The OC has a primarily PvE focus with some strong Alliance Battle members. We will expand into GvG as we grow. The OC currently has two arms: PvE and PvP. Our PvE arm is larger at this stage. We welcome PvE characters and players. The OC do not mind doing missions or quests. We are happy for you to watch the movie if you want (unless we discuss it in advance about why we want you to skip the movie). Our PvP arm is very new but gaining in numbers. At this stage the PvP arm focusses on 4 person teams but as our numbers increase we will expand up to 8 person teams. We are not overly concerned with our rank so if you want to engage in PvP you can do so regardless of your skill level.
There are no age restrictions in the OC. However we do expect a degree of maturity and a little self control from our members. Most members between 17 and 35.
Guild Size: We are growing and have a good strong core with most members being on-line regularly. If you are looking for the largest guild then we are not for you. We focus on recruiting people who are fun, friendly and compatible with us.
Guild Rank: We are still developing our GvG arm. We have no rank. If this bothers you, then we might not be the guild for you. We are not likely to ever be a top 300 guild. We are comfortable with this. However, our PvP arm is growing. Right now we focus on 4v4 and 6v6 battles.

Vent
The Guild has its own Vent channel courtesy of the fine people at ANZGW. The main channel is open and you are welcome to visit and ask questions.
We have a number of locked channels for Guildies only so they can concentrate on what they are doing.
Also please limit the use of profanity - some of us are kids and some of us have kids.
Please respect our channel. While we welcome friendly people to drop by, we will kick and ban any user that makes themselves a nuisance.
Guild Chat and Alliance Chat
We are very relaxed about the use of our in game channels. Sometimes we use them to just chat while we are in different groups. Other times we tell jokes.
If you want to use these channels that is fine by us with one proviso: do not use guild chat or alliance chat to annoy others.
Also please limit the use of profanity - some of us are kids and some of us have kids.

Life in The OC
The OC is a welcoming guild. If you join us, we want you to feel welcome and that you want to stay. Our guild members have characters at all levels and in all GW Chapters.
Our motto: Exsisto Praeclarus Ut Invicem (Be Excellent to Each Other). This means you can be certain that the OC wants you to have a fun guild wars experience. With that in mind we have some simple rules to live by:
1) Please do not use the term noob. We were all new once and people appreciate it if you do not talk down to them just because they are new.
2) Members of the OC should not get involved in an in-game flame war. It demeans both parties and the guild. Just place the offensive person on your ignore list.
3) Members of the OC should be pleasant and helpful to people.
4) Do not behave like a jerk just cause it is a game. A virtual jerk is still a jerk.
5) Have fun. We want to help you find out the many ways that GW is fun.
The OC aims to improve the game by keeping it fun and friendly for everyone.
What is required of Guild Members?
Apart from the above rules we ask that you use common sense. We do not believe in excessive or restrictive rules in the OC. However we do ask that you treat people with respect.
Officers are here to help keep the guild operational. They are not your boss.
You can get involved with the OC in which ever way you want. If you prefer to use henchmen for most things we do not mind. If you want to learn or join our PvP arm, we are happy with that too. If you want to just sit back and socialise that is also fine with us. We do have guild events such as missions but we also have Guild Games. You can participate as you want.
We will not be happy if you are ruining other peoples fun though.
Faction Farming and the Like?
The OC believes that your faction is your faction. If you want to cash it in for amber/jadite then you should be able to do so. If you want to donate it to us then that is acceptable as well. It is your decision. We might never own a town but we do not mind one bit.
Joining and Membership
The OC is not aiming to be the biggest or most highly rated guild. We are aiming to make it one of the most fun and friendly guilds though. This means that we want to make sure you are compatible with us before we invite you.
If you think the OC is right for you then leave a message in our membership thread. Members of the OC will whisper you when you are on and ask play some GW with them. This might be PvE or PvP. Sometimes it involves just sitting down and getting to know people via whispers and in-game chat. That part is negotiated.
If, after the session, the OC member thinks you will work out they will sponsor you to the Guild. It is very easy really.
Feel free to contact our officers in game with questions. Please recognise that our officers play the game too and might be in the middle of battle when you whisper so please be patient.

The Order of the Chimaera (also known as "the OC") is not in any way affiliated with the OC TV series. Most of us have never watched it. However, there is one similarity: The OC Guild and the OC TV series both seem to heavily feature 20 and 30 year old people pretending to be teenagers.
